Are you planning a trip to Banff National Park or at least dreaming about it? Banff National Park, Canada’s crown jewel has been on my bucket list for years. There are two reasons really. 1. I love to visit National Parks and 2. I’ve never left the US before and am excited to visit another country!
As part of our “Roadtrip To End All Roadtrips” Banff is the third National Park on our list to visit and the first one that I have yet to visit. (Yellowstone & Glacier). Because this trip has so many stops we can only dedicate two days to exploring Banff & we want to make the most of those two days.

I do not get to Canada too often but that park seems to have it all for natural beauty. You have given us so many great places to stay if I ever get there.
I’ve never been either but I’m really looking forward to it.
I truly hope I get there someday. It sounds like a gorgeous place to visit and stay!
I’m so excited to get to visit there.
So glad you offered an indoor lodging option, I’ll spend my days outdoors and my nights in a bed.
Haha! I love to sleep under the stars, but I don’t rough it. We have a queen size air bed that we used to feel amazing to sleep on.
Thank you for sharing this information. I would love to plan a trip for my family for next year.
I am so happy that you enjoyed it Tasheena. I hope that you get to experience it one day.
Ooo I need to get here with my family. I won’t lie, I would do the indoor lodging. I am not a fan of camping outdoors.
A lot of people are like that and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Canadian here who has been trying to get to Banff for a LONG time. Alberta is so beautiful. My brother was there in the summer with his kids for a family trip and they loved it. Long drive apparently from Edmonton according to him but worth it once they were there. They also did Drumheller.
I’m not familiar with Drumheller, but I will look into it.
As a fellow Canadian, I would love to visit Banff National Park. It looks absolutely gorgeous and thank you for outlining all the great places to stay nearby!
Thank you Lisa I am so happy that you enjoyed it.
I just love exploring national parks! It seems as if Banff has so many lodging options available. I really appreciate the affordable admission prices as well.
I do too Marcie! I hope to one day have visited all of them.
Wow, that is one big park! Thanks for the helpful list of places to camp, this looks like a vacation spot to add to our list of must visit parks!
I agree Mitch! It seems huge to me as well at least from looking at the map.
I’m so excited you are coming to my backyard! It seems so funny to read all these places to stay and knowing all of them! We have a condo at the Banff Rocky Mountain Resort, almost next door to the Tunnel Mountain campsites! So excited for you to see Banff!
I really hope that we can meet up for coffee at least while I’m around.
I have heard great things about Banff, and I’ve always thought it would be a fantastic place to visit. We might have to make some travel plans!
You should! You never know what tomorrow brings.
Banff is so beautiful! I visited it once as a small child, and I’d love to see it again. I think we stayed in Lake Louise.
I can’t wait to go there, actually anywhere in Canada is going to be exciting for me.
I am actually waffling on going to Banff this summer. It’s a toss up between Canada and Scotland right now. I love national parks, but I also love highland cows. So, I guess it will boil down to how much money we have saved by the time we start booking our flights and hotels.
Oh man Scotland! That would definitely be a hard decision for me.
What a beautiful place to visit! Such a brilliant list of places to stay too! Thanks for providing such spectacular insight!
Thank you Lauren! I am so happy you enjoyed it.
I didn’t know this existed until four of my friends vacationed there last year. It is so beautiful.
It is! I can’t wait to get there.
That looks like a great place to stay. I love going to the national parks. They are always so beautiful.
Me too! I hope to eventually visit them all.
What a great comprehensive list you’ve compiled. We would love to visit Banff National Park and will keep your list handy when we do.
Thank you Sue! I am so happy that you enjoyed it.
That is such an amazing a beautiful park. I would really love to stay there for a week or two!
Me too! Unfortunately we only have a few days to spend there. We have a lot of stops
Wow, what a great list. Banff is an incredibly beautiful place, I would love to plan my next visit there. Thanks for this, I am bookmarking it!
That’s great Nancy! I am so happy you like it.
I’ve heard great things about Canada. I can’t wait to visit! I booked an airline ticket to Canada last summer but had to cancel it 🙁
Oh I hate to hear that. I hope you get there this summer.
Wow, there are a lot of places to stay in Banff National Park! I would love to visit one day
I hope one day you get to visit there as well.
