Welcome to a Fly on the Wall group post. Today 3 bloggers are inviting you to catch a glimpse of what you’d see if you were a fly on the wall in our homes. Come on in and buzz around my house.
This month hasn’t been very exciting unless you count food poisoning and a sinus infection but that’s about it. My daughter was supposed to come down and couldn’t and I really missed that.
I found out I have not one but TWO new grandbabies coming! For some reason, in this family, we do things in twos. Like these two:
But this time it’s not twins. My oldest daughter is having a little boy and she and her partner are over the moon excited to welcome him into a house of girls! My son-in-law broke down and cried when he found out. We love him so much! He is definitely part of our family.
I hit the jackpot when it comes to sons-in-law. I have two great ones. Amazing fathers, hard workers, good people are so hard to find these days. I haven’t met my son’s partner yet. It’s been over two years since I’ve laid eyes on him, but fingers crossed for Thanksgiving.
On the other hand, my son (middle child) and his partner are expecting a little girl. His reaction was priceless. He is literally terrified! He’s a car racing, mud trucking, wrench turning male with two sons. He’s not sure what to do with a little girl but it sure is going to be fun watching him do it!
The older I get the more I enjoy having the little ones around. I love getting everyone together and even though we have a little home when everyone is here it’s like music to my ears. My husband never understands it. He says, “momma you cook for days and wear yourself out” why? We could just get a bucket of chicken. Food is my love language. I may not be the best cook (and I’m improving daily there’s a little bit of love in every single recipe)
Growing up I didn’t have grandparents, well let me clarify, I had one grandma who lived 400 miles away and she died when I was 9. I loved her though and my visits are beautiful memories that I cherish. So, when I became a grandma I decided then and there that I was going to enjoy every second and make as many memories with them that I can. When I die all I want is for my grandkids to have even more of the beautiful memories that I have of my grandma.
