Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.
At the end of this post, you’ll find links to the other blogs featuring this challenge. Check them all out, see what words they got and how they used them.

Things have been pretty quiet here. I have medical tests coming up on Nov 23 and I feel like I’m just living in limbo at this time. I’ve had stomach issues for a while and my hatred of doctors and fear of the pandemic has kept me out of most doctors’ offices for the last two years.
So now, I’m desperate so I gave in and went. I’m not afraid of having the tests. I’ve had an Endoscopy and a Colonoscopy before. This time I’m afraid of what they are going to find. My stomach hurts. All. The. Time. I cook a meal and then as soon as I smell it I get sick. It’s like I’m pregnant without being pregnant and I’ve lost A LOT of weight and while some of it was good, now it’s not a very good look.
So two days before Thanksgiving that’s where I’ll be and hoping and praying that I’ll have a clear diagnosis to be Thankful for this year. I don’t want to sound melodramatic because I have so much to be thankful for. I have a life that I wouldn’t trade my life for all of the money in the world. A lot of people don’t have that. I just really want to feel better and do things again.
I’ve tried everything for nausea. I’ve put air fresheners everywhere and added them to the laundry. I know sometimes my husband would like to slug me. I’ve been a little grumpy, but he’s just so gentle and kind-hearted. Everything he does is to make my life easier. How many people can say that? He also talks ALOT and sometimes he’s like a top when you spin it.
He worries about germs everywhere so a couple of weeks ago I was shopping with the grands and I said, “I have to get your Papaw’s diaper wipes don’t let me forget. My grandson had the funniest look on his face. “Papaw WEARS DIAPERS?”. It was funny but I think they heard them in the deli section. I had to explain that they were for getting gas and wiping down the pumps and any surface that comes into contact. The funny thing is he’s ALWAYS been like this.
So, on top of the stomach thing, I also ended up with a sinus infection after fall allergies took over. Which actually made the stomach worse because you know drainage. I finally got my antibiotics after being told “my doctor is no longer seeing sick patients’. With no mention of a phone visit or medicine, nothing. Just nope. A few hours later I received a call from another nurse setting up a phone visit.”
I’ve been living on Wasabi noodles and watching Guys Grocery Games while contests use Pork Rinds to make a souffle to win $20,000. I am feeling a lot better now, well except for the stomach thing but then yesterday I successfully cooked and ate a pot roast dinner with potatoes, carrots, celery, and onions. Yum! I pigged out so maybe there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Tonight, I think I’ll fix some biscuits and gravy. Sounds pretty good so far!
