Traveling as much as I do I have witnessed a lot of stupid people doing some pretty stupid things in our National Parks. I thought it would be interesting to point out some of the “stupid-ness”.
Always pay attention to your surroundings!
Wildlife is everywhere!
It’s not just the animals that can kill you!
Watching the last video makes me unbelievably sad. It’s like watching sand through an hourglass and once our Glaciers are gone, they’re gone forever. Climate change is real and if we don’t take steps to back away from the edge it will be too late.

I never realized that there were so many dangers when visiting this park. i still would like to go but I will take all of your advice.
Thanks Melissa! I think the best part of going there is all of the wild life. You just have to be smart about it and not put yourself in harms way. An Instagrammable pic isn’t worth dying for!
Interesting park. Love the pictures.
I’ll keep these in mind. Yes, I would always be aware of my surroundings, that’s for sure. I don’t want to run into a bear!

Oh wow, It’s pretty cool that wildlife is so active there. I’d definitely make sure to stay alert the whole time.
I would love to visit this national park. It looks gorgeous. I never would have thought about all these potential dangers though.
I have to say this is a twist! Most posts are on what TO do at (insert place here). I totally understand about the wildlife, and your video encounter with a bear was frightening! Great post, and I hope that people will heed your advice!
I could barely watch the Grizzly bear video! It is really sad that so many people aren’t concerned about the glaciers melting and how that affects all of us.
I bet it’s thrilling and a bit nerve racking visiting Glacier national park. That grizzly encounter is super scary! I appreciate the tips, will take note of them surely.
wow! It’s really sad to watch the last video and to know that these climate changes can damage our kid’s future!
This is a great list of things NOT to do in a National Park. I think sometimes people forget that they are environments that belong to the animals and that we should respect them and their homes.
I’m glad you made this list. I have always wanted to go here. Now I’ll know what to watch out for.
When you are traveling you really need to travel smartly! I wish people would use their common sense even when they are away from home!
I am usually very cautious about where I go and I look up all of the potential dangers. This is great to know so travelers can prepare. Everything has risk but, when you’re prepared, you’re ahead.

I haven’t been to Glacier since I was a teenager, but I would love to take my kids sometime soon. We live close to Yellowstone, and it really is amazing the stupid things people do, and how so many people don’t seem to understand that the animals are real, and wild, not pets!
I did my Master’s Degree in Park & Natural Resource Management, and I can so relate to this! People are just clueless and disrespectful, and our parks are suffering.
One of my favorite National Parks! Can’t wait to take my son to visit. He’s trying to complete his National Parks passport.
