Welcome to a Fly on the Wall group post. Today 4 bloggers are inviting you to catch a glimpse of what you’d see if you were a fly on the wall in our homes. Come on in and buzz around my house.
Things have been quiet here unless you follow me on Twitter. I think I’ve found my calling there. I love to piss off Republicans and that’s how I’ve been spending my days. Our Democracy is at stake, not to mention our bodies. I’m pissed off about the Texas Abortion Law.
Look, I know this is a touchy subject. I am Pro-Choice. I will always be Pro-Choice. Would I personally have an abortion no, BUT I do not think that the government or anyone for that matter should have the right to tell us what to do with our bodies!
This is why I believe the way I do:
- I am a child of molestation. I was molested by a family member, then a neighbor and the worse was being raped on my way home from church by the local Math teacher/church deacon. Let that sink in for a moment, I was 12 years old and could have very easily gotten pregnant (if he wasn’t too old). With this law, I would have no choice but to carry a child from a time that victimized and traumatized me. To me, that would victimize the victim again. Whatever you believe is fine but that shouldn’t give you the right to make me live by your religion. This woman says it best and I applaud her for it. I’m sorry if this offends you.
- The second reason is because of her: This is my grandmother and my father when he was 3 years old. A year later, 23-year-old Louise (I’m named after her) found herself all alone with a small child and one on the way. In her desperation, she had an illegal abortion. She died the very next day. My father was 4. Nobody should have to feel that desperate.
It’s not just this instance though, every day we see Republicans move further and further away from reality.
- We have a vaccine that can (and has) saved millions of lives, but because Republicans are making a fortune from this virus and they also want Biden to look bad, but at the cost of so many human lives. I feel sorry for the kids who have no choice. To young to be vaccinated. What would they say?
I know I need to get off of my soapbox, but come one people it’s a shot. You had one for Chickenpox, flu, measles, mumps, rubella, and maybe even polio. If you’re not vaccinated then YOU are the problem. I believe in vaccine mandates and I think employers should fire those who refuse and they should not be able to get services provided by the government it’s that simple.
I also think that it’s disgusting that we made $40,000 last year and paid more taxes than Jeff Bezos, Zuckenberg, Musk, etc. It’s time for a change and it’s coming because we finally have a president who cares enough to do the hard work.
Here are my heroes:
