Welcome to a Secret Subject Swap. This week 10 brave bloggers picked a secret subject for someone else and were assigned a secret subject to interpret in their own style. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.
Your “Secret Subject” is:
Design your absolute dream car. Tell us all about it.

Sometimes I think that Karen is psychic because every time she gives me a subject it either ends up happening or in fact has just happened and this post is no different! Four days before this post was scheduled my car blew up on the interstate on our way to Columbia, SC for a trip to the zoo.
Luckily, we were following my daughter and her family so we were never stranded. We just hopped in their trip and continued on to the zoo. The trip was supposed to have been fun and relaxing. Enjoying the kids while they mimicked the animals that they were seeing sounded like a great day to me.
In fact, though, we were stressed out worrying about what we would do about your vehicle two hours from home and a blown engine. Truth here: I have never even tried to buy a new car, thinking there was no way with the number of hospital bills I still have. We decided we only wanted to apply once. We didn’t want a number of hits to our credit because it was probably already on life support.
We checked several lots and finally found one that would not only meet our needs but also our budget. I hate dealing with financial things. I have such anxiety over anything that has to do with money. I hate it, I hate dealing with it. Probably because I’ve never had much I wanted to spend it wisely.
We applied for the loan with a knowing smirk because we knew they were going to tell us they couldn’t help us and we’d be back to buying from those ‘Buy here, Pay here’ lots whose cars are already on their last legs. You know the ones where you know without a doubt that the payments would last longer than the car would.
When they came out and said we had been approved we both about fell out of our chairs. We were going to be the proud new owners of a Hyundai Santa Fe. I think I’m still in shock, to be honest. As some of you probably know I have only recently begun driving again. In 2009, I was in a horrible car accident and had not been able to drive due to my own fears and anxiety.
Six months ago, I finally decided I wanted to drive again. I wanted to get over this paranoia so after three trips to the DMV it was determined that I had not driven in so long I would have to start all over again, hence the learner’s permit. I haven’t worked up the courage to get behind the wheel of the new car even though I had driven the last several times (before I broke my leg that is). I’m getting there! Maybe this weekend even!
I am excited about having a new car, but I’m even more excited that I will be attending WordCamp in Raleigh, NC this weekend! Yeek! I know #technerd #WordPressGeek. I have been trying to get there for three years but something always came up…not this year and who knows I might even drive myself!
