Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.
At the end of this post, you’ll find links to the other blogs featuring this challenge. Check them all out, see what words they got and how they used them.

Sometimes the words I receive tell a story as soon as I see them, some make the struggle real but this month’s words reminded me of stories from my past that make me laugh to this day and I thought I would share them with you while using the words given so here goes:
Several years ago, my husband bought his first Keurig and couldn’t live without it now. He has an unbreakable connection to his one cup of coffee a day. (I’m not a coffee drinker so don’t understand the
love addiction). One morning, he woke up and his precious machine did not return the love and I’m almost positive that I saw tears.
Anyway, he hadn’t had this one very long at all (a matter of weeks) and we still had the box and receipt so he took it back to the store where he had purchased it and exchanged it for another one. He returned home happy once again. He took it out of the box, plugged it in, and nothing. I know I saw tears at this point.
Imagine his surprise when he finally figured out his mistake. The breaker had kicked off because at that time we had two different coffee makers plugged into the same outlet. One for mom and one for him. So we separated them and everything was fine and he exchanged a perfectly fine coffee machine!
These next three words reminded me of a funny story involving my brother-in-law. He’s no longer with us, but we loved him dearly.
My BIL had recently gone through a divorce and it wasn’t something that he had wanted. It took him a while but he was ready to go out on a date for the first time in many, many decades.
Another fact is that my BIL also could not read or write. He managed through life, held a job but he was one of 12 kids in a family so poor they didn’t even have indoor plumbing. With an alcoholic father and a bartender mom, life was hand to mouth constantly for them.
Anyway, he ran into a convenience store to buy cream for the dentures that he wore. This day he was in a hurry and he grabbed the wrong box.
Apparently, what he had purchased was an Icy Hot lotion. He then squeezed this into his dentures and inserted them into his mouth. He immediately starts screaming. His gums looked like a stove burner on high.
My husband grabs the box and realized what a horrible mistake his brother had made. They get to my house and of course, my husband turns it over to me for some reason.
I have one cracking up and the other throwing up. I’m worried about him so I do the intelligent thing and call the Poison Control center.
As the lady relates that it’s okay and he’s in no danger just an upset stomach she is literally crying she is laughing so much. Now, we weren’t making fun of him for not being able to read.
We laughed because he had bought it a thousand times at this store so it was just a case of being in a hurry and not paying attention.
Sometimes you just have to laugh!
