Hello, welcome to the Wandering Web Designer! This is my brand new space because well I want a place where I can share ideas & inspiration, stories from the road, discounts & tips as well as anything else that might make me feel all warm & fuzzy. Besides all of that, I really wanted a space that wasn’t all pink. I’ve never been a fan of the color, but I built my website (The Blogging 911) with my clients in mind and pink & gold seem to be working.
It’s been a busy couple of months around here. Besides breaking my leg, having surgery, catching pneumonia, and saying goodbye to my mother we also moved. Yeah, all of that and we downsized dramatically in the last month. We went from four bedrooms to one, three bathrooms to one. I wanted to leave our old house because to me it brought nothing but bad memories so we moved into an apartment and I absolutely love it.
I wish we could have hired professional movers as I saw on a flyer, but unfortunately, I had two guys & a woman in a wheelchair and it worked out alright in the end. My husband likes to say that I can move a whole house with only one finger, but this time I really did. I just pointed to where I wanted things and they listened.
Everything is moved and put away and it takes about 15 minutes to clean each day! I’m still rolling around in my wheelchair (going on month 3), but I go see the Dr next week and I should be back on my foot. Oh yeah, no steps at the new place which was a HUGE plus! Don’t want to do that again.
So when I started putting this site last October I had a firm launch date of Jan 1st. We were going to start planning our road trip and I was creating a whole course on technology, but as I tumbled down those steps I saw those plans slipping further and further away. We were all set to leave for six weeks in June to make the trip of a lifetime (I’ll talk more about that later), but because of my broken leg, my husband has been on FMLA for the last 2 months. Asking for a six-week vacation in just a few months was kicked to the can for this year.
So, we moved our trip of a lifetime back one year, you probably noticed the countdown in the sidebar. It’s counting down the days until June 1st, 2020. The course isn’t finished, but I couldn’t wait any longer to launch my new site. It took so much hard work not only by me but our faithful leader of creative challenges helped me too! I could have never gotten it finished without her contribution. Thank you, Karen!
So now that you’re caught up on my life what’s been going on in yours? Grab a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, or like me a big glass of sweet tea and enjoy some great reading from my friends!

Rena, you have had a lot going on! I hope your leg heals quickly and that the countdown to your trip passes equally as fast. I’ll be interested in following how your downsizing to an apartment goes. Your site is beautiful!-
I don’t know about faithful leader, well “faithful” I hope but “leader” not so much.
Your new site is perfect, really reflects you, I’m so happy to have been a small part of pulling it together.
I know your dreams have been deferred a bit, but they’re still there on the horizon. In the meantime I hope you can be happy healing and planning . .. oh, and writing.
Can anyone say MID-LIFE CRISIS? Because I think your life has definitely been through one! (And we all know we are in mid-life.) So glad you survived and thrived. Love to see pictures of that new apartment! My life pales by comparison.
LOVE the new website, but sorry to hear the trip has been pushed back a year. Hoping we both have a great 2019
