Welcome to a Secret Subject Swap. This month 5 brave bloggers picked a secret subject for someone else and were assigned a secret subject to interpret in their own style. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.
Your “Secret Subject” is:
Do you weigh all the options before making a decision or do you just dive in blind? Either choice, why?

Do you know me?
I’m a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl no matter how hard I try to be the other way. I’ve always been that way. If you saw a fire would you run into it or run away? Some would run away and call help. Me, I’d run in and help as many as I could first. Maybe it’s growing up the daughter of a fireman. But, I don’t think it’s that noble.
I’m also a stand by your principles kind of girl. You can love me or you can hate me, but I’m going to be the same way tomorrow as I am today. Especially in today’s political climate where I may or may not have gotten myself in some sticky situations both online and in person. Unfortunately, I live in a gun-totin’, rebel flag flying red state. I’m neither a gun toter nor a racist so I kind of stick out like a sore thumb.
It may have, in some circles, been easier to just go along with the crowd and get out as soon as I could like my husband suggests. (He’s not political at all). Nope, not me I’m a blue voting, rainbow flag flying liberal and I’m damn proud of that. See what I mean? Can’t do it. I would probably choke to death!
I’ve always been hot-tempered, quick to ignite, and slow to put out. I also grew up in a house with four brothers probably not a good combination for a girl who would have loved to have had the opportunity to participate in the UFC! These days my boxing gloves are pretty much retired, especially since I often can’t make a fist, but let’s just say I’ve not always been this sweet soul that I am today.
One time, when my husband and I were first together (19 & 20) we were in a heated argument about what I do not remember (aren’t all good fights like that). He called me a name that should never have crossed his lips as he turned to walk away. Unfortunately, this was about the time that my tea glass (full of sweet tea), somehow found the way to the back of his head. Did I mention I was drinking out of a beer mug? Yeah.
When I say this man folded up like a lawn chair in the kitchen doorway I am not exaggerating. I thought that I had killed him. Of course, what did I do next? Call an ambulance? Rush him to the hospital? Hell no! I drug his ass into the house and shut the door. Not one of my proudest moments, but on the other hand in 30 years I’ve never been called anything other than “love” or “dear”.
Set the ground rules, early girls!
No, in all serious I do not condone domestic violence under any circumstances…well except for that one. We don’t fight like that never have since. All I can say in my defense is that I was 9 months pregnant and it was the end of July. Enough said?
So yeah, my life has been a series of close calls because of my fly-by-night nature. Drives my husband nuts, but maybe that’s enough reason why!
